Ruby liked being a bartender. It played to her natural strengths of being friendly and outgoing, and she got to meet a lot of new people and hear a lot of new stories. She liked the stories best.
Tonight, Red's was busy. The music was thumping as if the building had it's own heartbeat, and Ruby was moving a bit to the beat as she stood behind the bar, waiting for the next drink order or for a familiar face.
There were a few of those in the crowd, but most people were dancing or chatting, and the bar itself was curiously bare. It was early though, and Ruby knew that by the end of the night, the bar would be just as busy as the rest of the place.
